Request approval

A pattern for a request to leave the app, wait for a decision, and come back with a visible status.

Power AppsPower Automate

Reference pattern. It does not describe a client.

The app creates the request as Pending. The flow starts from that record, sends an approval, and writes the result back: Approved or Rejected, with the date and the comment. The person who asked does not have to chase the status by mail.

If the approver does not act, the flow should not stay silent. A reminder or a visible due state avoids the eternal request.

Before you promote it, the approvals connection has to be an environment reference, not the personal account of the person who designed the flow.
